Stop Smoking Please!!!

This is a very good topic to post at this time.  In the last few weeks, I have been exposed to entirely too much second-hand smoke.  Being a former smoker, I have always been extremely sensitive to second-hand smoke exposure.  I try to encourage my patients who do smoke to do all they can to quit.  I especially dislike pregnant patients who continue to smoke.  They are hurting themselves long term and affecting their unborn babies short term.  Smoking during pregnancy is associated with so many serious implications for the baby such as growth retardation, placental abruption, and fetal death.  As a clinician, I have seen over the years a significant number of my generation quit smoking only to have the younger generation pick up the habit.  There is nothing good about smoking.  Yet there are so many diseases and disorders associated with long-term smoking.  I would encourage you out there who still smoke to visit this link on smoking cessation.  Maybe you will some day get someone else to quit.  Doc

Finally Back

I'm finally back after a fairly long absence this last few weeks.  I've had a very busy summer with my practice.  I did not even get a vacation.  I hope to be blogging again with my commentaries, so get ready.  The next article is to follow this brief intro.  Title:  Stop Smoking Please!!!  Doc
