| Commentary: Please check out the Atlas on Skin Cancer link on the home page. I would urge you to especially pay attention to melanomas, squamous cell carcinoma, and basal cell carcinoma. These three types of skin cancer can be very dangerous. Of all three, basal cell is the most benign and easily cured. I would also encourage you to learn what these look like and be on the look out for any suspicious lesions on you or anyone else. As discussed in the commentary on melanoma, you should either report these lesions to your doctor or go see a dermatologist if you believe it looks suspicious. I believe everyone should start doing self exams so they become aware of what their skin looks like. Any suspicious changes in lesions should be investigated. Doc |
